Barmah

Hi my name is Karlee.  We have bought a house at

Barmah.  This is my story about Barmah.

We live next to Yorta Yorta, the Aboriginal Cultural

Centre.  About 7km down the road is the Lakes

and Damya Centre.  The Damya-Centre is very

interesting.  It has things from the river, the forest

and what the Aboriginal use for weapons and

shields.

At the lakes you can go fishing,

swimming and most of all the King Fisher.  The

King Fisher is a river boat.

Barmah is about 25

minutes from Echuca and  Nathalia is about 15

minutes from Barmah.  Barmah to Shepparton is

about an hour.

I like Barmah because you never

run out of things to do.  Next to Yorta Yorta is the

Pub and the General Store.  Just up from the Pub is

the Caravan Park.  The Caravan Park is on the river .

Across from the Pub is the Park.  We play there

allot.

When we go fishing with Dad we put the boat

in at the boat ramp near the Park.  You can catch

Yellow Belly, Red Fin, Carp, Cray Fish and

Murray Cod.  On the river to catch the fish

you use bait.  The baits you can use are Worms,

Yabbies, Shrimp, Minnows, Bardy Grubs, Crickets,

Frogs, Grass Hoppers and Mussels.

My Dad

owns a business at Barmah.

I love Barmah.
